com/ The SmartList To Go desktop program, which lets you work with your HandyTree data on the PC, can import data in the following formats: Microsoft Access, ODBC Data Sources, Comma delimited text file, Tab delimited text file, Semicolon delimited text file.
So if you have genealogy data already stored in a desktop computer database, and if your existing PC-based software can export data in one of these formats, you can import existing records into HandyTree via the SmartList To Go desktop program, defining import rules, for instance, specifying insert last name data into the HandyTree Surname field, insert first name data into the HandyTree Given Name field, etc.
. After that, it's simple to save updated HandyTree data and install it on your handheld computer.
Even if you cannot export data directly to HandyTree, you can usually highlight data in your existing desktop program, copy it to the Windows clipboard, then paste it into HandyTree in the SmartList To Go desktop program, saving a lot of typing.
